Said Nursi – without a doubt – is an Islamic scholar who is known as the most brilliant figure of the contemporary Islamic thought. His thoughts have inspired many Muslim scholars today. This can be proven by the proliferation of studies on Nursi in various parts of the world. He expressed his thoughts in his works known as Risalah Nur written during the first half of the 20th century, which until now continues to be the subject of study by Muslim thinkers in this field.

Nursi is known as a complete thinker. This is evidenced by his many studies on science, education, sufism, aqidah, kalam, history and language. For Muslim thinkers afterwards, of course they cannot pass up these ideas as an effort to answer and respond to various global issues and problems of the world today. Therefore, Department of Aqeedah and Islamic Philosophy, Faculty of Ushuluddin, University of Darussalam Gontor Indonesia collaborated with Istanbul Foundation for Science and Culture (IFSC)-Turkey and Nur Semesta Corner in organizing this conference and inviting all Muslim scholars to jointly research and examine Nursi’s thoughts for the development of science to solve various problems faced by humans today.
